MCT Scrapping The Little Things ~ You & Me!

Happy Monday!  Today is Scrapping The Little Things at My Creative Time.  I don't know about you, but I love using a sketch for inspiration.  Also when choosing a sketch, don't get thrown off if it's for a card.  You can always use it for a layout.  Or even the other way around.

I used this sketch for the larger pocket card, except I chose to use stars instead of circles.  Remember the sketches are for inspiration, so it doesn't have to be exact.

I thought it would fun to cut the bicycle in half for the two cards.  I have left room on both cards for either pictures or journaling.  On the second card, I die cut the "&" about 5 times and glued together.  Then added glossy accents on top.  It's such a cool look in person!

Again on the large card I left space for a picture.

PKS Photo/Color/Sketche Challenge ~ Boo!

Hello, peachy friends!  It's time again for a color, photo, sketch challenge with Peachy Keen Stamps!  I love the PKS challenge since you have the choice to use any part for inspiration.  I've used all three, however you don't have to.  You can pick one part of it or all of it!!!!

Isn't this what being creative is all about!

I LOVE Halloween, but not in the over the top trying to scare someone in to having a heart attack.  Just the goofy, fun, and spooky kind of Halloween!  That's why I love the porch in the photo, it was the inspiration for the broken fence, even though the porch is in pristine condition. :)

It's super cool how you can mix and match so many PKS sets, even with some that are older.  Like the new pumpkin with the Make a Monster Face assortment set.

PKS Change Up Your Stamps ~ Need a hug?

Hi crafty friends!
Today I've taken over the Peachy Keen Blog with a tutorial!  Now before I start I want you to know that I'm not an expert in Copics or stamping.  However I recently took a stamping class that helped me to look at my stamp collection differently!  To really be creative with them.

Also in the class I realized that I've become partial to one layer cards, or with just a bit popped up.  Rest assured, if you've been following for any length of time then you know that I LOVE a layered card, I will continue to make them! :)

Oh, and the inside sentiment is too funny!  Kathy's humor cracks my up!

The Supplies!

I first used VersaMark and Glitter Black embossing powder to create the outline of Mr. Cranky.

Then heat set it.

Next I used black memento ink for the face.

Once everything had cooled, I used copic markers to color him.

After I completed the coloring, I fussy cut Mr. Cranky.

Of course I needed him to come alive, so I added some glossy accents to his one eye..."He's Alive"!  :)  Set aside to let him dry!

For the background I wanted the look of different pattern paper yet only use one layer.  So I taped off the area that I didn't want to be stamped.

Then I inked the edges of the stamp.

Next I carefully removed the tape and stamped my card base.  This card is folded in half.

As you can see it's a bit askew, but I'll fix that shortly.

With another pattern stamp, I did the same thing with the tape.

Again I inked it up.

Removed the tape and stamped the image.

You can see that there a bit of a gap between the images.  Now I'm going to fix it being crooked and the gap

.I taped off so the part that was crooked and missing is now straight.  I'm using a wide painters tape and didn't want to waste to much so I tore it in half lengthwise and used the straight edge to create the space to be embossed.  I'm all about using what you have.  :)

You can see where I added the silver tinsel embossing powder.

After I embossed a few purple bats, I added some pop dots to Mr. Cranky!

Isn't he FUN!

Have a beautifully creative day!

MCT Made In Minutes ~ I love you!

Good morning paper lovin' friends, I hope you had a beautiful weekend!  It was another sunny one in California.  I love the sun, however we REALLY need the rain...which isn't expected anytime soon. :/

Today is Made In Minutes over at My Creative Time.  I love this segment, since I always get ideas for cards that can be made in minutes or easily mass produced!  Quick and easy are always a good thing in my book!

Smile Eagle goes amazingly well with the Birch Background, too, and can’t us just see that little fella used for some AWESOME patriotic projects? There’s the Haunted A2 Background, which comes just in time to make some quick and easy Halloween projects, OR pair it up with last month’s release or ANY of our Halloween themed stamps for more versatility. The PKSC-33 Stamp of the Month, Ballerina Bear, and the Sentiments for the September 2014 Release are fabulous “go to” sets for any age! And last but certainly not least are the Variety Face Assortments. It wouldn’t be a PKS release without faces, and these are some of the cutest and most versatile yet! Turn a simple project into something SUPER SPECTACULAR just by adding an adorable Peachy Keen Face! These are must haves, for sure!!
